Shivam Hardware

Shivam Hardware is located on the first floor at 3160/11 in Ram Market. We are in the Dassan Mohalla area, specifically near Peepal Mahadev in Hauz Qazi. This part of the city is very old, and the streets are so narrow that you can barely fit a cart through them sometimes. Our shop is reached by a narrow set of stairs that are a bit steep. We carry a lot of metal goods like hinges, locks, tools, and different sizes of screws and nails. The shop smells like metal and oil, which is what you’d expect from a hardware place. We have thousands of small items tucked away in wooden drawers and plastic bins. It takes a lot of memory to remember where every single type of bolt is kept. We’ve been here for a long time and have seen many generations of local craftsmen come through our doors. Hauz Qazi is famous for this kind of trade, so there is always someone looking for a specific part. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It's just shelves and counters piled high with stock. Sometimes we have to hunt through several boxes to find the exact thing a customer wants. We talk to the other shopkeepers in the market and sometimes share a meal or some tea during the slower hours of the afternoon. It's a very traditional environment where everyone knows everyone else.
