Harjas Lighting Co.

Harjas Lighting Co. is up on the second floor of A-13 in Saraswati Garden. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we like the view of the street from up here. We’ve been in this building for a few years now. The space is filled with all kinds of lights and fixtures. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest. We’re always moving boxes around to make room for new stock. Saraswati Garden is a nice enough place to work. We have a small crew. We mostly deal with people who are renovating their homes or shops. They come in with a general idea, and we show them what’s on the shelves. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. It’s more of a warehouse feel. We just tell people what works and what doesn't. If a light is going to be too bright for a small room, we say so. There’s no use selling someone something they’ll hate later. The second floor gets a bit warm in the summer, but we have a couple of fans going. We spend a lot of time checking wires and making sure things are safe. It’s steady work. We aren't looking to expand into some giant empire. We’re happy right here at A-13. Most of our customers are locals who heard about us from their friends. That’s plenty for us. It keeps the business moving without too much stress or complicated paperwork.
