H & R Johnson (India) Limited

We are way up on the top floor of house 147 in Shahdara. It’s Street Number 4 in the Durgapuri Extension part of Delhi. It’s a bit of a climb, but it’s where we handle the H & R Johnson (India) Limited business for this area. Since we are on the top floor, we can see the street below clearly. It’s a residential-feeling street but quite busy with people going about their business. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things for tiles and home fittings. There are usually stacks of brochures and sample pieces sitting around the office. It gets quite warm in the Delhi summers, but we keep the work moving. People come here to discuss their building projects or to figure out which ceramic patterns work for their homes. We don’t have a big neon sign or anything, just a practical office space. Most of our day is spent on the computer or talking to folks about delivery schedules. It’s a local spot where the staff knows the names of the regular contractors who drop by. We just try to keep things running smoothly and make sure the paperwork stays in order for all the tile shipments coming through. The stairs can be a bit of a workout if you aren't used to them, but the view of the street makes it okay. We have a small table where we spread out the floor plans that builders bring in. It’s usually covered in a bit of dust, but we wipe it down every morning.
