Green Vortex Waste Management

We’ve been here in Mayapuri for quite a while now. Managing waste isn't exactly the most glamorous job you can think of, but someone has to do it. Green Vortex Waste Management started because we saw how much stuff just gets tossed out without a second thought. Our yard is usually pretty busy with trucks coming in and out throughout the day. It is a lot of sorting, hauling, and just trying to keep things moving so the piles don't get too high. We handle a lot of the scraps and junk that local businesses and residents around here don’t want anymore. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty and loud around the site, especially during the middle of the week when everyone is working full speed. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we have a good rhythm. We know the streets around Mayapuri pretty well by now. It’s hard work, and we get our hands dirty every single day we are open. We don't really do big fancy advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find us because they need their trash gone or have things that need proper disposal and they happen to see our trucks. It’s just how we make a living. There is always a pile of something that needs to be moved or processed before we can go home. We just try to keep the place as organized as we can. It is a simple operation, really.
