Golden Hardware

Golden Hardware sits in the Christian Compound area of Kishan Ganj. It's a busy part of New Delhi, and the shop is usually filled with the smell of metal and oil. We have shelves packed with everything from tiny screws to heavy tools. It can get a bit crowded in here when a few customers come in at once looking for specific parts for their home repairs. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, so we mostly rely on memory to find things in the back. The building at 472/2 has seen better days, but it holds up well against the Delhi heat. Most mornings start with rolling up the heavy shutters and sweeping out the dust from the street. We get a lot of local workers and neighbors who just need a quick fix for a leaking pipe or a broken door handle. There’s always someone stopping by to ask for advice on which bolt fits which nut. We don't spend money on fancy displays. The items are just stacked where they fit. Sometimes we run out of space and things end up on the floor for a bit. It’s a noisy neighborhood with the traffic and the markets nearby, but we’re used to it. We keep the kettle going for most of the day because someone is always coming in for a chat. It’s just a regular hardware store trying to keep up with the daily needs of the area.
