Avinaash Garments

If you go down Nim Chowk in Garhi Dayanand Colony, we are right there in Gali No. 1. Most people just look for the Sbbj Bank because we are right beside it. Avinaash Garments is a small operation, mostly just us and a few helpers. The street can get pretty narrow and crowded with bikes, especially in the evenings. Our shop is where we handle everything from start to finish. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we store a lot of finished garments on the shelves. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time between all the orders. We mostly deal with people from the local area who know the family. We don't really use computers for much, just a ledger and some pens to keep track of what's going out. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back. There's always a bit of tea being passed around and someone usually has a radio playing softly in the corner. We aren't looking to change much about how we work. It’s a steady pace and we like the neighbors. The bank next door makes it easy for people to find us. We just keep our heads down and keep the sewing going as long as there is light enough to see the needles.
