Rajdhani Collection

Our place is Rajdhani Collection, over at 6664 Janta Gali in Gandhi Nagar. If you know Delhi, you know how Gandhi Nagar gets. It is packed every single day. We are right in the middle of that rush. The shop is full of clothes, mostly stacked up in big piles or packed in plastic bags ready to go. We deal with a lot of people who come in from out of town to buy stock for their own shops. It is loud outside with the rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the orders. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I have to climb a ladder just to find a specific size someone asked for. We do not really do much decoration. The walls are just covered in racks. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon. The lights are bright because customers need to see the stitching clearly. It is a family thing, so there is always someone around to help out. Janta Gali is narrow, so it gets tight when we are loading up bundles onto the carts. We have been here for years, through all the changes in the neighborhood. It is just a regular garment business doing its thing every day. We open early and stay until the last customer leaves. There is always something to do, like sorting through new inventory or packing up a big shipment.
