Jagdish Garments

We are over at No. 9/6300 on Jain Mandir Street in Gandhi Nagar. If you have ever been to Gandhi Nagar, you know it is one of the busiest garment hubs you can find. Our shop, Jagdish Garments, is right in the middle of all that chaos. The street is named after the temple nearby, so we hear the bells sometimes. We deal with a lot of bulk items, so there are always sacks of clothes arriving or leaving. The space is filled with the smell of new cotton. We have a small fan that doesn't do much, but we keep it running anyway. Most of our day is spent counting pieces and making sure the bundles are tied tight. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving things around. We don't have any fancy displays. We just stack things where they fit. Sometimes it is hard to even find the desk under all the invoices. We have been here for quite some time now and we know most of the other shop owners on the street. We share tea and complain about the traffic together. It’s a very basic setup, just some shelves and a lot of stock. We don’t do much advertising; people just know where we are. By the time we lock up at night, we are usually pretty tired, but that’s just how work is in Jain Mandir Street.
