Down in Gandhi Nagar, in the middle of all that chaos, you’ll find our spot at 9/6375 Central Market. We are tucked away in Netaji Gali, which is one of those narrow lanes where you have to squeeze past people carrying big bags of clothes. Hari Prashad has been here for a while. The shop is small, and every inch of wall space is covered with stock. If you come by in the afternoon, it’s usually packed and very hot. We don't have much room for fancy stuff, so we just focus on what we have in front of us. The market has a rhythm of its own. You hear the shouting of the loaders and the bells of the rickshaws all day long. It's not the kind of place where you come for a quiet chat. We handle things as they come, sometimes dealing with a lot of people at once and other times just sitting back and waiting for the next rush. We’ve known the other shopkeepers in Netaji Gali for years. We help each other out when we can. It’s a tough place to work sometimes because of the crowd and the dust, but it’s where we belong. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just run our little business in the market and hope for a good day's work. It's honest and it keeps us busy.
