Our office is on the first floor over in Lajpat Nagar 4, at E-18 ODS. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, and you can always hear the sound of the city from our windows. Being on the first floor means there are always people coming up and down the stairs. The space inside is mostly filled with desks and cabinets where we keep all the files for our building projects. It’s not a very large place, so it gets a bit crowded when everyone is in at the same time. We’ve been working from this spot for a while and have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. Usually, the mornings are for catching up on messages and the afternoons are for site visits or meeting people who stop by. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Whoever is nearest the door usually just looks up and says hello. The air conditioner hums quite a bit in the summer, which is necessary in Delhi. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and construction schedules. It’s mostly just hard work and a lot of talking to contractors. There isn't much flair to the office, just the usual chairs and a table for tea. We find it’s a good enough spot to get our daily tasks done without much fuss. The location is handy for getting to other parts of the city too. It is just where we spend our days.
