Our shop is 518 in the Lajpat Rai Market, right in the thick of Chandni Chowk. If you’ve ever walked through those lanes, you know it’s a world of its own. FRONTIER TRADING CO. is a small part of that massive electronics market. We don't have a lot of room, just enough to stack our goods and have a spot to sit and talk to whoever comes by. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it’s always busy, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We trade in various items, mostly things people need for their shops or projects. There is no corporate ladder here, just us and the customers. We spend our days negotiating, checking quality, and making sure the boxes get moved to the right place. The market has its own rhythm, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. You won't find any vision statements on our walls, just maybe a picture of a deity or a calendar from three years ago. We just try to be honest about what we have and what we don't. If we can't get something, we'll tell you. It’s a simple way of doing business that has worked for us. The tea here is strong, the sun is hot, and the work never really stops until the shutters go down at the end of the day. We usually spend the last hour sweeping up and writing down what we need for tomorrow morning when the market opens up again.
