About Freelance Interior Design – Metals & Minerals in Delhi
My workspace is in Dayanand Colony, which is tucked away in the Lajpat Nagar area of New Delhi. It's a busy part of the city, but C-75 is where I do all my interior design work. I’m a freelancer, so it’s just me and my samples. Much of my time is spent visiting shops in the local markets to find the right tiles or fabrics. People come to me when they want to change how their house looks but aren't sure where to start. Having no big portfolio or glossy brochure doesn't bother me. I just talk to people and try to understand what they need for their space. Delhi apartments are usually small, so being clever about where things go is a must. I've been doing this quite a while now. It started out as a hobby and then became a full-time thing. I don't like the corporate way of doing things where everything is so stiff and formal. A relaxed approach works better for me. Sometimes I make mistakes with measurements and have to go back and fix them, but that's part of the job. I just want to make sure the final result looks okay and works for the family living there. It’s a lot of running around and dealing with contractors, which can be a headache, but I enjoy seeing a room change from start to finish. It’s just me doing my thing here in Delhi. I've stayed in this neighborhood for years now.
