Gopal Market is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We are up on the 2nd floor at Shop No. 27. Bhagirath Place is always crowded, no matter what time it is. You have to push past people carrying boxes and bundles of wire just to get to the stairs. Our shop is small. It’s packed with components, boards, and bits of solder. Sometimes it feels like the shelves are leaning in. We spend our days testing circuits and talking to people who need specific parts they can't find anywhere else. It’s dusty work. The fans just move the warm air around, but we don't really notice it anymore. We’ve been in this market long enough to know all the tea sellers by name. Most of our customers are regulars who come in, get what they need, and head back into the crowd. We don't do fancy displays. If you want something, we probably have to dig it out from a drawer in the back. It’s honest work, even if our hands are usually stained with grease or lead. By the time we pull the shutters down at night, the whole market is finally starting to get a little bit quieter. Then we go home and do it all again tomorrow. It’s just how life is here in the market.
