Fashion Footware

Fashion Footware is our shop at No. 3026/7a Ranjeet Nager, over in Patel Nagar. It’s a small space, and the smell of rubber and leather hits you as soon as you step inside. We have boxes of shoes stacked right up to the ceiling. Finding a specific size usually involves a bit of climbing and sometimes a box falls over, which is always a mess to clean up. We sell everything from basic slippers to some smarter shoes for weddings. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the local streets. They know we don't mind if they take their time trying on five different pairs. The floor is covered in a dark carpet that hides the dirt, but we still try to vacuum it every other day. One of the chairs for trying on shoes has a bit of a wobble, we keep saying we’ll tighten the screws but never quite get around to it. It’s a busy neighborhood and the street outside is always full of scooters and people walking by. We keep the front door open mostly to let some air in. Sometimes a stray dog wanders in looking for some shade, and we have to gently nudge them back out. It’s a simple business. We just try to help people find something that doesn’t pinch their toes too much while they walk the busy streets. It keeps us on our feet all day long.
