We have been here at No. 934 Farash Khana for quite a while now. Most people find us because they know the area well, it’s a bit crowded but that’s how it is in this part of town. Our shop isn't anything fancy, just a place where we keep all the bangles stacked up on shelves from the floor to the ceiling. Sometimes the dust gets in from the street, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass cases. My uncle used to run things here before I took over. We deal with all sorts of bangles, some are plain glass and others have more work on them. People come in looking for specific colors to match their outfits for weddings or just for daily wear. It’s a lot of sitting and showing different sets to customers who can be very picky. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you ask for a specific shade of green, I usually know which box it’s in without looking at the labels. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s when we take a small break. It’s hard work on the eyes sometimes because of the small details on the stones, but we are used to it. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the bangles and making sure the counts are right.
