Our office is tucked away on the first floor at 1489-91, right on S.P. Mukharjee Marg. If you’ve ever walked around this part of the city, you know how crowded and loud it gets. Inside, though, it’s a different story. Since we work with flavours and fragrances, the air always smells like something specific, maybe orange or sandalwood, depending on what’s being tested that day. It’s a bit of a maze with all the jars and samples sitting on the shelves. Most of us have been here long enough that we don’t even notice the scents anymore. We spend a lot of time mixing things and checking batches. It’s quiet work, mostly. The building is older, so the stairs can be a bit steep, and the lighting isn't always perfect, but it feels like home to us. We handle the daily tasks, answer the phones, and make sure the shipments are labeled correctly. There is no big corporate lounge or fancy coffee machine here, just a kettle in the corner and desks piled with notes. People come in, do their blending, and we try to stay on top of the schedule. Being in such a busy area means there is always traffic outside, but once you’re upstairs, we just focus on the smells and the measurements. It’s just how Fab Flovours & Fragrances operates. It is not always perfect, but we get the job done every single day.
