F F (INDIA) is tucked away on the 2nd Floor of building 563/27. We are located on Bahel Sahib Street, which is right in the Ganda Nala Bazar area of Kashmere Gate. If you know Kashmere Gate, you know it’s a maze of streets and old buildings. Getting up to the second floor takes a bit of effort, especially if you’re carrying anything heavy, but it’s a bit quieter up there than it is down on the street level. Ganda Nala Bazar is always humming with activity. There are wholesalers and shops everywhere you look. Our space is mostly taken up by work tables and stacks of items we deal with. It’s an old building, so the walls have a few cracks and the windows rattle when a big truck goes by on the main road nearby. We spend most of our time here just managing the daily flow of business. It’s a bit of a trek through Bahel Sahib Street to get to us, but that’s just the nature of working in this part of the city. We have a small stove in the corner for making tea, which we do several times a day to keep ourselves going. It’s a very local way of working, surrounded by people who have been in the same market for decades. We don't have a big sign or anything, just our name on the door and a lot of work to get through before the market finally closes for the evening.
