Our place is at C-50 in the Lawrence Road Industrial Area. It’s just a big gray building, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we handle food products. Mostly we deal with grains and things like that. There are big heavy sacks piled up everywhere you look. The floor is hard concrete and we have these pallets for moving things around. It’s a bit cold in the winter months and roasting in the summer, but that’s just how it is in the industrial area. We have trucks coming in and out of the gate all day long. It gets pretty noisy with the engines and the loading. We aren't a big fancy company with a lobby or a receptionist at the front. You just walk into the warehouse and find one of us working. Usually, I’m in the back checking the stock or talking to the drivers about their routes. We’ve been here at Lawrence Road for quite some time now and we know the other business owners nearby. We share news about the roads or the frequent power cuts. It’s a very practical business. We don't spend money on fancy signs or any advertising. We just focus on getting the bags filled and the trucks loaded on time. It’s hard work and the days are long. But it’s what we do to get by. It’s steady work.
