Our office at F-20 Aram Bagh is right in the middle of the chaos that is Pahar Ganj. New Delhi is never quiet, but this neighborhood is on a whole other level. We’ve been running Dwarkadhis Projects Pvt. Ltd. from this spot for a while now. It’s a small space, and we have to keep everything organized or we’d lose our minds within a week. Most of the time, the desks are completely covered in blueprints, site reports, and half-empty tea cups. We do a lot of running around, so there’s always someone coming or going at odd hours. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow and steep, which is a good workout for us every morning. We don’t really have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone knocks, whoever is closest to the door just opens it and says hello. We spend a lot of time on the phone, trying to sort out logistics for various project sites across the city. It gets loud outside with the market nearby, so we usually have to keep the windows shut. Even then, the constant honking of horns finds its way in. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the work we started gets finished properly. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve got a good handle on things. After work, we usually grab a quick snack from one of the local vendors before heading home in the traffic.
