We spend most of our time here at No. 3498-99 in Chawri Bazar. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how it gets with the crowds and the narrow lanes. It’s always loud outside, but inside we just focus on getting the work done. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The walls are a bit dusty and the shelves are packed with files and samples. Most days start with tea and checking what needs to go out. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It is just a workspace where we handle the trade. People stop by, sometimes they stay for a bit to talk, and then they move on. Chawri Bazar has a rhythm to it that you just get used to after a few years. We deal with a lot of paperwork and manual entries. It isn't always smooth, sometimes the light goes out or the delivery rickshaw gets stuck in a jam three streets over. We just wait it out. There’s no big secret to how we operate. We show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s a lot of climbing stairs and moving things around. The address is easy to find if you look for the right number. It’s just us doing what we do every day. Nothing more, nothing less. Usually, by the time we close up, the street has calmed down just a little bit, and we head home.
