Decorative Buckets

Working at Decorative Buckets in Hauzkhas puts us right in one of the most interesting parts of Delhi. It’s a mix of old history and the new bustle of the city. Our workshop is tucked away here, and it’s usually filled with the sounds of metal being worked on and the chatter of the staff. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Instead, it’s a practical space where we actually make things. The streets in Hauzkhas can be narrow and crowded, which makes getting supplies delivered a bit of a headache sometimes. We have to time everything just right or the trucks get stuck in the traffic. Inside, there are stacks of finished pieces and raw materials everywhere you look. It might seem a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we have our own system that works for us. We spend our days designing and finishing the buckets, and there is always something new to look at. The light in the workshop is a bit dim in the afternoons, so we have some old lamps hung up to help us see the details. It is a very hands-on job. We aren't worried about looking polished; we just want the work to be solid. People often wander by and look in at what we are doing. It’s just a normal day for us in Delhi, keeping the tradition of making things by hand alive.
