Kings

Our place, which we call Kings, is right in Palika Connaught Place. If you know the underground market, you know it can be a bit of a maze down here with all the different turns. We are in one of the middle sections of the market. It is always air-conditioned but it still feels a bit crowded because of all the people walking past. We sell a bit of everything when it comes to clothes and small accessories. The lights are very bright and there are mirrors everywhere to make the space look much bigger than it actually is. We spend a lot of time talking to people who are just passing through or tourists looking for a good deal. It gets very loud on the weekends when the whole of Delhi seems to come down here to shop. We have to be careful with the stock because our space is so limited. We store all the extra boxes under the glass counters and behind the main door. Every morning we have to wipe down the glass because of all the fingerprints left from the day before. It is a fast-paced environment and you never know who is going to walk in next. Sometimes we stay late to reorganize the shelves after a particularly busy afternoon. It is just part of being in Palika Bazaar. We do not have much room to move around, but we make it work for us. It is a good spot to see the city life and keep busy.
