Cocoberry

Running this spot in Sector 18 at number 7 keeps us on our feet. If you know this area, you know how packed it gets on the weekends. We spend most of our time behind the counter, mostly refills on the machines and cleaning up spills. Frozen yogurt can get messy, especially when kids are around. The machines have their own moods and sometimes need a bit of a kick to stay running right. We try to keep the toppings containers full so nobody sees an empty tray. It’s a simple setup, nothing too fancy. People walk in, get what they want, and usually head back out to the street to keep walking. The summer months are definitely the busiest because of the heat. We go through a lot of fruit every day, so there is a lot of cutting and prepping in the back. I’ve lived around here for years, so I see the same neighbors coming in quite often. It’s just a regular local shop. We don’t have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from mopping the floor to handling the cash register. Sometimes the electricity flickers, which is just part of being in this neighborhood. We just reset the breakers and keep going. By the end of the night, we’re just ready to wipe down the counters one last time and lock the doors. It’s a lot of the same stuff every day but it keeps us busy while the traffic outside keeps moving.
