If you go down to Bazar Sita Ram Market, you’ll find us at Chhotey Lal Nank Chand. The market is one of those old-school places where everyone seems to know everyone else. Our shop is pretty small and it’s usually overflowing with goods. We’ve been here for many years, following the same routine every single day. We pull up the shutters, sweep the front, and get the first pot of tea going. The walls are covered in shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, so we’re always climbing ladders to get things down. It’s a bit cramped, and if more than three people come in at once, it feels crowded. Bazar Sita Ram is always loud with the sounds of vendors and shoppers. We’ve gotten so used to it that we don't even hear the noise anymore. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the people who stop by, whether they’re buying something or just passing through. There isn't any fancy decor or big signs. Just the name above the door and the stock on the shelves. We do our own accounting on paper and keep track of everything ourselves. It’s a lot of work to keep a small business going in such a busy market, but we just keep at it. It’s what we know how to do and we don't think much about it. Every day is pretty much like the last one.
