Operating out of Shri Ram Market in Bazar Sirkiwalan is quite an experience. Our address is No. 1900/32 on the Main Road in Lal Kuan. Since we are so close to the Chawari Bazar Metro Station, the area is always packed with people and carts moving everywhere. It is a historic part of the city and you can feel it in the narrow lanes and the old buildings. Parkash Enterprises fits right into this busy environment. Our space is filled with goods from floor to ceiling, and we have to be very careful how we stack things so nothing falls over. The light inside is a bit dim because the buildings are so close together, but we know where everything is even in the dark. Every morning involves clearing a path so we can actually stand and work. We deal with a lot of different people coming through the market, from small shopkeepers to laborers. The air is always full of the smell of spices and old paper from the nearby shops. It is a tough place to work because of the heat and the crowds, but it is where we have always been. We don't have any fancy signs or big displays, just the products and a desk to do the math. Usually, we take a short break for tea around four when the market is at its busiest, then work until the shutters go down.
