We are located at Plot No. 3479, right near Hauz Qazi Chowk. If you know Delhi, you know how busy this area gets. It is loud, crowded, and there is always something happening outside the door. Our building is old, with narrow stairs and walls that have seen better days. We handle various hardware items and tools. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in looking for a specific bolt or a piece of machinery. Sometimes it takes us a while to find it in the back because we have so much stock piled up. We don’t use a computer for everything; most of the records are still in big ledgers. It’s just easier that way for us. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. My uncle started this business decades ago, and not much has changed since then. The traffic in the Chowk is a nightmare, so we tell people to come early if they are driving. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit place despite the chaos. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just shelves upon shelves of metal parts. We do our best to help everyone who comes through the door, even if they only need one small screw. It's a living, and we’re glad to be part of the market here. We usually close up when the street lights come on and the traffic starts to thin out.
