Chauhan Trading Co.

We’re situated on Durga Mandir Road in Sonia Vihar. Our plot is E 2/597, and we are quite close to the MCD School. It’s a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else. We do trading, which means we are always dealing with different supplies and vendors coming through. The road can get pretty dusty and loud with the school kids running around and the temple traffic, but it feels like home to us. Our office is pretty basic. We have a couple of desks, a few old chairs for visitors, and a lot of registers. We don’t use much technology beyond what’s necessary; we prefer the old way of writing things down. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to people who drop by to discuss orders. We started small and stayed that way because we like the local feel. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just trade goods and try to stay fair with everyone we deal with. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s cool enough, just watching the street go by. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone’s relative stopping in for tea. We just do our work, look after our customers, and keep the business running year after year without any big drama. It is just about getting the goods moved and keeping the books balanced at the end of the month.
