Running a place at No. 241/1 To 245 in the Main Bazar of Chandni Chowk is pretty chaotic. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how crowded the lanes get. Our spot at Taj Plaza is up on the first floor, so you have to climb these narrow, steep stairs to get to us. It is an old building, and the hallways are a bit dark, but we have been here for a long time. We handle all sorts of goods, mostly textiles and wholesale items that come through the market. The sheer amount of people walking by outside is incredible, and the noise of the rickshaws and shouting never really stops. Inside, we have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed with bundles of cloth and boxes. It is hard to keep track of everything sometimes, so we spend a lot of time doing inventory and moving stuff around. The air is always thick with the smell of old paper and fabric. We don't have a big sign outside, so most people find us because they already know the unit number. It is a busy, sweaty place to work, especially in the summer, but that is just life in Chandni Chowk. We keep the chai coming and just try to get through the orders as they come in.
