You can find us at No. 346 in Naya Katra, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. If you’ve ever been to Chandni Chowk, you know it’s absolute chaos, but Naya Katra is where we’ve set up shop. We deal mostly in sarees, as the name suggests. There are thousands of shops around here, but we’ve managed to stay in business by just being honest with people. We don't have a big showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights. It’s a traditional shop where you sit on the floor and we show you the different selections we have. Some days are so busy we barely have time to eat lunch. We get sarees from all over, different colors and patterns. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day long. My father started this years ago, and we just kept it going. The stairs up to the shop are a bit steep, so you have to be careful. We don't do any big ads on the radio or in papers. People just know that if they come to Naya Katra and look for us, they’ll get a fair price. It’s a dusty, noisy, wonderful place to work. You never know who is going to walk through the door next. It’s just the reality of doing business in old Delhi, and we wouldn't change it for anything. We are just simple people selling beautiful fabric.
