You have to head up to the second floor of Haveli Jugal Kishore to find us. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of history, which makes it an interesting place to work every day. We are located at No. 1870-73. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you are inside, it is just shelves upon shelves of sarees. We spend a lot of time unfolding and folding back the fabrics. It is a bit of an art to keep everything neat, though it often gets messy when we are busy with several people at once. The lighting inside isn't always the brightest, but we make do. Being in an old haveli means the walls are thick and it stays a bit cooler in the summer than the street outside. We have a small staff here, mostly just a few of us who have been around sarees our whole lives. We do not really do much in terms of marketing; people usually just find us because they know the area well or their family has been coming here for a long time. It is a quiet kind of business for the most part, except for the wedding seasons when it gets quite hectic. We just sit on the floor cushions, show the designs, and talk to whoever walks in. It is a very traditional setup. There is always a glass of water or some tea ready for anyone who stops by. We just focus on keeping the stock updated and making sure things stay in order.
