O. K. Lamps

You will find O. K. Lamps at No. 1567 in Bhagirath Palace, right in the Chandni Chowk area. We are located next to the Havells Gallery, which is the easiest way to find our shop. The place is literally filled with lamps of all shapes and sizes. Because we have so many lights turned on at once, the shop is always very bright and a bit warm. We’ve been in this market for a long time now. Every morning starts with us wiping down the glass and checking the bulbs. It is a very busy environment, and the noise from the street outside never really stops. We have boxes piled up in every corner, and sometimes it is hard to find a place to stand. We use an old wooden ladder to get to the stock on the higher shelves. It’s a bit wobbly, but we’ve used it for years without any trouble. We don’t have a website or any fancy brochures. People just come in, look at the lights, and decide what they want. It is a very straightforward way of doing business. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything, from sales to packing. The hours are long and the market is always crowded, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and helping the people who walk through our door. That’s how we’ve always operated here.
