You can find Malak Foot- Wear Company at No. 782 in the Ballimaran area of Chandni Chowk. It’s a busy spot and we have been here for years. The shop is packed with shoes and boxes stacked up high. It’s not the easiest place to move around in when there are more than three people inside. We carry mostly leather shoes and some casual slippers that folks like to wear. The street outside is always full of activity and sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the shelves. We don't really have a big team, just a couple of us working here every day from morning until late evening. It is a family thing, mostly. We know the other shopkeepers on the block and we often share tea in the afternoons. Sometimes we run out of a popular size and have to wait for the next delivery to arrive through the crowded streets. Navigating those lanes with a cart is always a bit of a challenge. We just try to provide what people are looking for when they walk through Ballimaran. There isn't anything fancy about how we operate. We keep our records in a simple notebook and deal with customers face to face. It’s just how things have always been done at our place in Chandni Chowk and it works for us.
