Banarsi Dass Lachhmi Narain Kapoor

Our place is at No. 5491, on the 1st Floor in Nai Sarak. It is right in the middle of Chandni Chowk, so you can imagine how crowded it gets every single day. To get to Banarsi Dass Lachhmi Narain Kapoor, you have to climb up a narrow set of stairs. It is an old building, like most things in this part of Delhi. The stairs are a bit steep and if you are carrying bags, it is a bit of a workout. Once you are inside, it is a lot quieter than the street downstairs where the rickshaws are constantly honking. We have been in this spot for years. The name is long, but everyone in the market knows who we are. There are shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling filled with stock. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit when we have a lot of visitors. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving. We usually get our lunch from the stalls down in the alley. It is a tight space but we are used to it by now. The floorboards creak a little when you walk over the old parts. It is just a traditional business setup. No fancy computers or modern glass walls here. Just the same desks and the same routine we have had for a very long time.
