Maurya Graphics

Maurya Graphics is located at E- 2/18 Chanakya Place Part- 1. It’s a small ground-floor space. We have a few big printers and a lot of computer monitors. The sound of the machines humming is the background noise of our lives. Chanakya Place is a bit crowded, with narrow streets and lots of houses close together. Part- 1 is where we’ve set up shop. The walls have samples of old work pinned up with tape. It’s not a fancy studio. There are scraps of paper on the floor and ink stains on the tables. We spend a lot of time zoomed in on screens, checking for mistakes. Sometimes the ink runs out right when we are in the middle of something important. That’s always a headache. We have a small fan that wobbles while it spins. People from the neighborhood come in for all sorts of small jobs. We handle them as they come. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for things to print. The lighting is a bit harsh because of the fluorescent tubes. We don't have a big team, just a few people who know how to run the software. It’s a steady kind of work. We stay until late sometimes when there is a lot to do. Chanakya Place can be loud at night, but we just keep working. We usually eat our lunch right at the desk while the machines are running.
