Number 10, Narian Bazar is where we spend most of our daylight hours. Being in Bhagirath Place, means dealing with the constant crowd and the narrow lanes that define this part of the city. Central Electric Corp. isn't a fancy setup; it’s a functional shop filled with wires, tubes, and switches. We have boxes stacked nearly to the ceiling in some corners, and it can be a bit of a squeeze when more than two customers come in at once. The light inside is a bit dim because of all the stock blocking the windows, but we know exactly where everything is kept. If you need a specific fuse or a length of heavy-duty cable, we usually have to pull out a ladder. The market outside is always humming with people looking for deals or moving heavy carts. We get our lunch from the same local stall every day, and we eat it sitting on whatever crates are empty. It’s a busy life here, and there isn't much time for small talk, though we do know most of the other shopkeepers on this block. We’ve seen the seasons change from this storefront for years, from the heavy rains that leak a little near the door to the dry, dusty heat of May. We don't have any big slogans or glossy brochures. We just have a lot of electrical stuff and a counter where we write out receipts by hand. It can be exhausting by the time we close the shutters, but there is a certain satisfaction in the work.
