If you have ever been to Bhagirath Palace in Delhi, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes are. That is where we are, in the Amarnath Building at 1826/11/21. Bharti Electricals has been operating out of this spot for quite a while. It is a tight squeeze with all the wires, switches, and electrical components stacked up to the ceiling. There is barely enough room for two people to pass each other in the aisles sometimes. The building itself is old, with that specific smell of dust and electrical parts that you only find in this part of the city. We spend our days answering the phone, talking to people who come in looking for specific parts, and trying to keep track of the inventory. It is loud outside with the rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the orders. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a reception desk. It’s just a wooden counter, some old ledgers, and a lot of stock. Drinking tea from the local stall is a regular part of the morning, and usually, we’re too busy to notice the time flying by. It can get really hot in the summer months, but that is just part of being in the heart of old Delhi. We know our way around the maze of the palace, and even though it looks like chaos to an outsider, we have our own way of making sure everything gets to where it needs to go.
