Hari Om Lights

Our shop is right in the middle of the chaos at No. 1801/13 Nav Durga Market. If you know Bhagirath Palace in Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets. It is a maze of wires and boxes everywhere you look. Hari Om Lights is tucked in there among so many other shops. It is bright inside because we have to show what we have, but the air is usually thick with the smell of old stone and tea from the vendor down the street. We spend most of the day untangling things or testing bulbs to make sure they actually light up. It is not a peaceful place to work. There are always people pushing past and delivery guys trying to squeeze through the narrow aisles with huge stacks of crates on their shoulders. Chandni Chowk has its own rhythm, and you either get used to it or you do not. We have been in this spot for a good while. The walls are a bit peeling and the shelves are crowded, but we know where everything is kept. When someone comes in asking for a specific fixture, we usually find it under a pile of something else. It is a lot of climbing up and down ladders and dealing with the heat from all the lamps. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the market finally starts to quiet down at night.
