Belle Laboratories Private Limited is tucked away at No. 1/562 in the Friends Colony Industrial Area. If you know Shahadra, you know Street No. 8 can be a real headache to navigate when the delivery vans are parked all over the place. We’re right near G. T. Road, so there is a constant rumble of heavy trucks in the background. Inside the lab, it’s a lot quieter, though. We spend a lot of time looking at tubes and writing down numbers in big ledger books. The air always has that faint, sharp smell of chemicals that never really goes away, even after we scrub the benches at the end of the shift. The floor is tiled and a bit cracked in the corner by the sink. We’ve got some old wooden stools that squeak every time you sit down. Most days are spent checking samples and making sure the equipment is clean. It’s a lot of repetitive work, honestly. We have a small kettle in the back for making coffee when things get slow in the afternoon. The windows are high up and a bit dusty, so the light that comes in is usually pretty dim. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the number on the gate. It’s just a plain industrial building where we do our testing and keep to ourselves. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we keep a bucket there.
