The Designo International

We are based at No. 30-Ua in Jawahar Nagar, which is right in the Kamla Nagar area. If you walk down Bungalow Road, you’ll find us easily enough among the other buildings. The Designo International is the name on the door, but inside it’s just a group of us sitting at desks and working on different design projects. The office isn't very large, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of samples or drawings lying around. Kamla Nagar is a lively part of the city, so there is always some noise from the street or people passing by. We have a couple of old fans that make a bit of a racket, but they keep us cool enough in the summer. We mostly focus on getting the drawings right and making sure the measurements are correct. It’s not a glamorous setup with lounge chairs or coffee machines; we usually just get our tea from the stall around the corner. We spend a lot of time staring at screens or talking about which materials will work for a certain job. It is a busy place, and sometimes the desk gets buried under papers and pens. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and it feels like home to us now. There is no corporate vibe here, just a lot of practical work happening every day between the hours of nine and six.
