Fine Box Factory

Our factory is located at No. 6416 in Gali Ishwari Parshad, which is inside the Bara Hindu Rao area. It’s a very old part of the city and the lanes are narrow, so getting big piles of cardboard in and out is always a bit of a challenge. Fine Box Factory is basically a place where we cut, fold, and glue paper and board all day long. The smell of glue is something you just get used to after a while. We make all kinds of boxes for different shops—some for shoes, some for sweets, and others for things like shirts or small tools. It’s not high-tech work. We use some old machines that have been around since my father’s time. They make a lot of clicking and thumping noises throughout the day. The workers here are mostly guys from the neighborhood who have been with us for years. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Orders come in because people know we are here in the Gali and we get the work done. Sometimes we are buried in piles of scrap paper and it looks like a total mess, but we know where everything is. We just focus on making sure the boxes are sturdy enough to hold whatever is going inside them. It’s a simple business and we’ve been doing it the same way for a long time now. It’s just how things are in Bara Hindu Rao.
