Ahmad Industries

Our place, Ahmad Industries, sits on Plot No. 1 along Sanjay Gandhi Marg. It’s a busy part of East Babarpur, and people usually look for the Chajju Gate to find us. Honestly, saying Chajju Gate twice in the address is how most people actually find the turn-off. The workshop is mostly just a big open space with machines and materials stacked up. We start early, around seven or eight, depending on how much work is piled up from the day before. The noise from the street is constant, with rickshaws and motorbikes passing by all day long. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the equipment running and the guys talking over the hum. We don’t really have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you walk in, you’ll probably find someone covered in grease or busy checking a part. It gets pretty dusty, especially when the wind blows through the gate. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the building shows it. There are patches on the walls and the floor is worn down from moving heavy stuff around. We just focus on getting the orders out and keeping the machines in good shape. Lunch is usually a quick affair, sometimes we go out to the local stalls or just eat in the corner. It’s a straightforward life here, just hard work and long hours in Babarpur. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the building, we just work.
