We’re tucked into Block F of the Mayapuri Industrial Area, right in Phase II at number 14. This part of town is all about industry, and we fit right in with all the steel we have lying around. We’ve been trading in mild steel for quite some time now. It’s a heavy business, literally. Most of our day is spent watching the cranes and forklifts move beams and plates from one pile to another. It’s a bit noisy and the air always smells like metal, but it’s what we know. We deal with a lot of regular contractors who come in for their supplies. The office is just a small room with a desk that’s seen better days, but it serves its purpose for the paperwork. Mayapuri is a maze sometimes, and trucks are always getting stuck in the narrow lanes, but we make it work. We aren't here to give anyone a sales pitch. We just have the stock, and we tell you the price. Some days are slow and we just sit around and talk, and other days it’s non-stop from sunrise to sunset. We’ve got a good crew of guys who don't mind the hard work. It’s not a clean job, and you’re bound to get some grease on your shirt, but that’s just how life is in the industrial area. It’s a gritty part of the city, but there’s a real sense of community among the shop owners here. We all know each other's business and help out when a truck gets stuck or a machine breaks down. We’ve been at number 14 for a long time, and we’ve got the rust on our hands to prove it. It’s hard work, but it’s honest, and we don't ask for much more than that at the end of the day.
