Asian Zip Industry

Asian Zip Industry is situated at No. 1635- A 14-15 Main Govind Puri Road. It is a long address for a place that makes such small things. We deal with zippers all day, every day. There are buckets of metal teeth and rolls of nylon tape all over the workshop floor. The sound of the machines attaching the sliders is a constant rhythmic clicking that we have all grown used to. Govind Puri Road is always moving, and we are right in the thick of it. The shop floor is a bit dusty from the metal shavings, so we try to sweep every evening before we head home. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the invoices and a very old calculator that still works perfectly. The walls are lined with different colored zippers, from bright reds to basic blacks. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for a specific size, and we have to dig through the bins to find it. It is not a glamorous business, but zippers are something everyone needs. We drink a lot of water because it gets hot in the afternoons with the machines running. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized in the middle of all that hardware.
