Architects - The Living

Our place is at 18, Ansari Road in Daryaganj. If you know the area, you know it’s full of history and old buildings. Architects - The Living has been tucked away here for a while. We spend a lot of time thinking about how people actually use their houses. It’s not just about drawing pretty pictures. Daryaganj is crowded and bustling, so we have to be practical about space. Our office is old-school. We have big drafting tables and lots of rolls of paper. Computers are there too, but we still like using pencils. The street outside is always full of people and bookshops. Sometimes the noise from Ansari Road drifts in, but we don't mind it. It keeps us feeling connected to the city. We work on all kinds of buildings. Some are small renovations, others are bigger. We don't have a signature style or anything. We just listen to what the person needs and try to draw something that won't fall down or leak. It’s honest work. We don't talk much about concepts or theories. We just look at the site and the budget and get started. Being in Daryaganj means we see a lot of different kinds of people every day. It’s a good spot for an architecture firm that cares about real life. We stay here at number 18 and just do our drawings day after day for whoever walks through the door.
