If you know the Ajmeri Gate area, you know how packed it gets. Amrit & Company is located at Plot Number 3827 in Shah Ganj, right on S N Marg. We are quite close to the Metro Station, which is a blessing because driving around here is nearly impossible during the middle of the day. The lanes are narrow and full of history and old buildings. Our place is one of those spots that has been part of the landscape for a long time. We handle a variety of items, mostly general supplies and hardware that the local shops and contractors need. The air is always full of the smell of street food and the sound of rickshaw bells. Inside our office, it is a bit quieter, though the walls are thin enough that you hear the city outside. We spend a lot of time organizing the shelves because space is at a premium in this part of town. Sometimes it feels like we are playing a game of Tetris with the crates. Our staff consists of people who have grown up in these streets, so they know all the shortcuts. It is a gritty, busy, and honest way to make a living. We do not have any big signs or bright lights, just a simple door that stays open for whoever needs something from our stock.
