Trishul-Guarding Mankind Foundation

If you head up to the northern part of Dehradun toward Vikasnagar, you’ll find us at the Trishul-Guarding Mankind Foundation. We are located at Savita Rai’s place in Nagnath, Gangora. It’s a quiet area compared to the main city, which we like. The air feels a bit fresher up here near the hills. We don't have a big glass building or a receptionist. It’s mostly just us working out of a room in the house. Sometimes the power goes out, so we keep some candles and a torch handy to finish our work. We started this foundation because we felt like there were things people needed help with that weren't being addressed. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just a couple of old computers and some notebooks. The walk up to the house is a bit steep, so we get our exercise every day. We spend a lot of time talking to folks in the village about their problems. It’s not a fast process, but we aren't in a rush to become a big corporation. We just want to do what we can for the people around here. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come by and play near the door while we are trying to plan things. It’s a lively place, even if it is small. We’ve lived in Uttarakhand a long time, so we know how things work here and what the regular folks are dealing with every day.
