Suraj Colours & Chemicals

Our shop is sitting right at number 30 in Anand Market. If you know Raja Road in Dehradun, you know how the traffic gets. We are pretty close to Shadhuram School, so when the bells ring, the whole street fills up with kids and rickshaws. Suraj Colours & Chemicals has been in this spot for a good while now. We keep a lot of different drums and bags of stuff inside. It’s mostly dyes and different industrial chemicals that people in the local trades need. The floor usually has a few stains on it because that is just how it goes when you work with pigments all day. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have some metal shelves and a counter where we talk to the people who come in. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit by the door where there is a bit of light from the street. My hands usually have some blue or red tint on them by the time I head home. We don't do much advertising because the folks who need this stuff already know where Raja Road is. It’s a simple operation. We open up early, sweep the front, and start moving the stock around. You can find us there most days unless there is a big festival happening in the city.
