Spartans - At The Service Of Nature Foundation is based in a small village called Silwedi. This is tucked away in the Rikhnikhal block. If you are looking for us, we are under the care of Pushkar Singh, who is the son of Kishan Singh Rawat. The post office is also in Rikhnikhal. It is a very rural spot, surrounded by a lot of trees and hills, which fits since we are a nature foundation. Working out of Silwedi means things move a lot slower than they do in the big cities. We spend a lot of time outdoors or just sitting in the small office area we have set up. It is a very quiet village. You mostly hear birds and the occasional tractor going by. We don't have fancy furniture or a big staff. It is just a few of us trying to do what needs to be done from this corner of Uttarakhand. Sometimes the road to the village gets a bit rough during the rainy season, but we are used to it by now. People around here know Pushkar and where the foundation is located. It is more like a community project than a big formal organization. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work at hand. It is honest work in a beautiful, simple place where the mountains are always in view through the windows.
