Spandan Foundation

Spandan Foundation is tucked away in Nehru Colony, specifically at number 414. They changed the house numbers recently, so some people still know it as 112/69/1. We are in the Dharampur-II area of Dehradun. It is a nice part of town, pretty central but still feels like a neighborhood where people know their neighbors. We have been working from this office for a bit now. It is not a huge space, just a few rooms where we keep our files and meet with people. We do not have a big board of directors or anything like that. It is mostly just a few of us who wanted to do something useful for Dehradun. We see a lot of people coming through with different needs. Some are looking for help with their health, others just need advice on local services. We do not pretend to be experts on everything. If we do not know something, we just say so and try to find someone who does. The tea shop around the corner is where we end up doing a lot of our talking anyway. We like keeping things simple. No corporate talk, no long meetings that do not go anywhere. Just plain work for plain people. Dehradun is changing fast, but we try to keep that old neighborhood feeling alive here in Nehru Colony. We are just folks helping folks. It is a good way to spend the day and we like the people we meet.
