Snowdon Ice Cream & Frozen Food

We've been here at Shil Nath Camp for a while now. Most days it’s just about keeping the freezers running right because the power can be a bit jumpy sometimes. Snowdon Ice Cream & Frozen Food isn't a fancy place, just a shop at 518 where people come when they need something cold or a quick meal to take home for the family. I spend a lot of time checking the stock and making sure the frozen peas haven't turned into a solid block of ice. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy crates and organizing the shelves so people can actually find what they want without digging. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in and take forever to pick a flavor, and you just have to wait patiently. It gets busy in the evenings when everyone is heading back home from work. The floor needs mopping constantly because of the dust from the road outside. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy every single day. We handle a lot of different frozen items, not just the sweet stuff. Dealing with suppliers is the hardest part, trying to get the delivery trucks to park in this narrow spot without causing a traffic jam. Most of the regulars know us by name now. We just try to keep the temperature down and the doors shut tight. It's just a regular part of life here at the camp, nothing more to it than that.
